The World Bank Mission Meets with FSM Department of Health and Social Affairs to Review Digital Gender Project

The World Bank Mission met with the FSM Department of Health and Social Affairs on September 3, 2026, to review the progress, implementation challenges, and next steps of the Digital Gender Project. Discussions emphasized strengthening digital literacy, expanding safe and equitable access to digital technology, and promoting greater opportunities for women and vulnerable groups. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to effective project implementation and to advancing inclusive, safe, and sustainable digital transformation in the Federated States of Micronesia.

FSM Health Leadership Convenes in Chuuk to Strengthen Health System

Health leaders from across the FSM gathered in Weno, Chuuk, August 10–12 for the 2026 Second Bi-Annual Health Leadership Meeting. The FSM Department of Health and Social Affairs launched the Pohnpei Outer-Islands Dispensary Rehabilitation Project on July 20, 2026, in partnership with the Micronesia Red Cross Society. The initiative will rehabilitate dispensaries across five outer islands, strengthen community-led healthcare infrastructure, and lay the foundation for improved medical services, connectivity, and future telehealth access.

Palikir, Pohnpei — The FSM Department of Health & Social Affairs (DHSA) conducted a two-day Sexual Harassment Policy Workshop to strengthen workplace safety, professionalism, and accountability. Staff learned reporting procedures, clarified the roles of Sexual Harassment Contact Officers, and developed 90-day action plans to promote respectful workplaces. The workshop was supported by the Australian Government.
