FSM Department of Health and Social Affairs kick off Effective Vaccine Management Assessment across all four states.
Effective Vaccine Management ensures vaccines are stored and transported under optimal conditions, preserving their effectiveness and safeguarding community health.
The FSM Department of Health and Social Affairs (DoHSA) has launched the Effective Vaccine Management (EVM) Assessment across all four states. This initiative began with a five-day workshop, conducted in collaboration with UNICEF and national EPI experts, to strengthen vaccine management practices throughout the country. Starting from July 29, trained assessors and UNICEF team have been using EVM tool version 2.1 to evaluate nine critical areas, including vaccine arrival procedures, storage temperatures, and stock management at all facilities where vaccines are stored and administered.
Funded by the Government of Japan, UNICEF will support the FSM DoHSA in collecting analyzing the data, preparing the report, and developing the Effective Vaccine Management Country Improvement Plan (EVM cIP).
